Here are ten of my favorites, covering everything from atmosphere and weather, to music, Workshop items, and more. Others were chosen for their ability to enhance its environments. Some of these mods were initially selected to right some of the game’s basic wrongs. And in Fallout 4, a game that certainly has its flaws, the opportunity to tweak and adjust the experience can make the difference between playable and unplayable. I’m always in grateful awe of those who will take the time to provide new material to extend the life of the universes I love to explore. It’s hard to believe how many games can be modded these days, and how high quality some of the mods are. Moreover, the Sole Survivor will be subjected to thirst, hunger, and exhaustion.
This difficulty basically turns the game into a full-on survival experience, with real stakes and no manual or autosave. However, Bethesda didn't want to just stop there, which is why Survival difficulty is an official feature in Fallout 4. From being chased by Deathclaws or getting mauled by ghouls, there's already quite a bit of challenge within the basic, vanilla version of the game itself. The world of Fallout 4 is a pretty grueling one.
